Sunday Letter #38: My Travel Saga

June 14, 2026

Hi friends,

It's been a crazy few weeks over here between recovering from what felt like every cold known to mankind and then immediately hopping on a plane to Los Angeles for Amazon's Prime Day event.

Okay, actually, let's just dive right into that.

Amazon hosts events for its influencers a few times a year, usually before major sales like Prime Day. We get an early look at upcoming deals, meet with brand partners, eat way too much good food, and spend time with all of our internet coworkers. They also send us home with mountains of products so we can test things out before the sale and share our honest favorites with you.

But can I tell you what my favorite part was?

The hotel.

We stayed at the Beverly Wilshire right on Rodeo Drive and I was absolutely living my Pretty Woman fantasy. Minus the actual Julia Roberts career path, of course.

The weather was perfect, the palm trees were palm-treeing, and every time I'm in LA I find myself questioning all of my life choices. Why does everything feel so dreamy there? The weather. The architecture. The walkability. The coffee shops. The vibes.

I literally spent part of my flight home Zillow-ing houses.

Now, before anyone gets excited, Hassaan and I have been talking about potentially moving away from Houston for approximately five years. We have a short list of cities we love, but we've also discussed staying in Houston and just moving to a more walkable neighborhood.

At this point, I'll believe it when I see it.

And speaking of LA...

I'm heading right back this week!

My nephew is graduating from UCLA and the whole family is flying out to celebrate him. We're making a five-day trip out of it and we're also taking the boys to Disney.

Shhhhh.

Don't tell them.

They have absolutely no idea.

But wait. My travel saga does not end there.

I get home on the 15th and then fly to Atlanta the very next morning for a Home Depot FIFA event. And yes, we actually get to attend a World Cup match.

Somewhere along the way I've accidentally become a jet setter and I'm not entirely sure how I feel about it.

I've never done three back-to-back trips before and my entire routine is completely out of whack. My trainer texted me this week asking why I'd missed so many workouts and honestly? Fair question.

I'm going to attempt to work out while traveling.

Please keep me accountable.

A few things that made my LA trip infinitely better:

And when all this travel finally settles down?

The bathroom remodel begins.

WOOOOOO.

I genuinely cannot wait. I've spent months thinking about layouts, tile, wallpaper, and finishes, and I'm so ready to stop planning and start making a mess.

Anyway, I really should go finish packing. We leave in less than a day and I've somehow only packed half a suitcase.

Wish me luck.

Until next time,

Fariha
