Hey friends,
I just got back from Chicago where we had a full-blown sibling reunion at my brother Owais’s house. It was one of those trips where time slows down in the best way — lingering at the breakfast table with endless cups of tea, cousins running wild, and everyone piling into cars for shopping trips and lakeside evenings. We celebrated two big milestones too: my eldest brother’s early 50th birthday and my niece Aimen’s high school graduation.
Now we’re home, and I’ve been wrapping up something big of my own — my book! The manuscript is officially finished, and now we wait to see the layout before it heads into edits. It’s surreal typing that out, but also a huge relief to finally reach this stage.
Next week, I’m off to Boston to drop Aimen off at college. Her parents had to fly back to Dubai, which means I’ve somehow been promoted to “responsible adult in charge of the college send-off.” And let’s be honest —nothing says plot twist like realizing I’m supposed to be the one who knows what to do. (Do I need a clipboard? A whistle? A mom van stocked with snacks?) You know I'll be winging it, send those college drop off tips my way please!
Wishing you a cozy (and hopefully snack-filled) Sunday,
Talk soon,
Fariha
